SDF Agreements
To make this space work for everyone, we ask that you hold to a few ground rules. These were developed based on the discussion at our convening last year:
- Respect: for each other and for grantees/the work being done on the ground; treat each other with patience and allow for vulnerability; bring one's own and honor others’ full humanity.
- Candor: in service of SDF as a space for open and difficult conversations; share as much information as you can; be open and honest about limitations and gaps, and about what it would take to have deeper conversation.
- Confidentiality: respect this as a safe and open space for candid discussion; be aware of the risk environment in which we operate and respectful of differing risk assessments; share themes but do not attribute without permission; if unsure, ask.
- Learning: use this as a space to learn from the field and from each other; lead with curiosity; no dumb questions or ideas; embrace differences of opinion and lean into difficult conversations and discomfort; share as much information as able.
- Self-Awareness: recognize that we are a part of the service delivery system and the power and privilege we hold as funders; value and bring our individual and collective knowledge, expertise and perspective we have about the field, in addition to the expertise and perspective of grantees; understand and respect the varying resources and limitations (relating to capacity, strategy, risk assessment) we each bring to the table.
