FOR INDEPENDENT ABORTION PROVIDERS
Grant & Loan Funding
RAD makes grants and loans to independent abortion providers across the United States (both 501c3 and taxable businesses) to help them protect or expand abortion access. We run an ongoing, nationwide fund, the Access, Quality & Sustainability Fund (AQS Fund), as well as special funds that respond to a particular need or issue, such the Abortion Provider Legal Defense Fund. Our grant and loan amounts range from about $20,000 to $1 million.
FOR INDEPENDENT ABORTION PROVIDERS
Technical Assistance
RAD provides free consulting support to abortion providers, in areas such as project development, project management, business operations, and financial health. Our technical assistance aims to help providers build capacity and adapt and evolve to changing circumstances, to maximize patients’ access to abortion care.
FOR ALL ABORTION PROVIDERS NATIONALLY
Legal Compliance Assistance
RAD provides free legal compliance assistance to abortion providers on abortion laws and other laws directly impacting service delivery, including those seeking to understand their legal risks in a post-Roe landscape. Our legal team – Regulatory Assistance for Abortion Providers, or RAAP – provides thoughtful legal advice on how to navigate abortion restrictions and the changing legal landscape. This includes assessing the legal implications of providing abortion to patients from ban states, understanding current threats to medication abortion services, and responding to new restrictions in your state. Our legal services are available to both independent and Planned Parenthood-affiliated abortion providers.
FOR FUNDERS
Funder Services
RAD plays a convening and facilitating role for funders that helps them make impactful and informed investments in abortion delivery and access. Our grantmaking, grant-managing, and grant accountability work allow funders to responsibly and impactfully distribute their investments charitably. Our Abortion Service Delivery Funders Table brings funders together to share information, resources, and strategies in support of equitable abortion access and service delivery.
