Leadership
Meg Cavanaugh and Melanie Zurek
Co-Executive Directors
Meg Cavanaugh and Melanie Zurek’s co-leadership of RAD is rooted in deep respect for the resilience of abortion seekers and providers navigating today’s complex landscape. Their shared vision commits RAD to being a dedicated partner and bridge to the future of abortion care: resourcing, protecting, and advancing it in ways that are expansive, equitable, and centered on the experiences of those seeking care.
Together, they bring more than 50 years of combined experience as part of the community of advocates, funders, and leaders in the reproductive health, rights, and justice field. Prior to stepping into their current co-leadership roles, Meg served as Chief Program Officer at RAD, following a career leading performance improvement and sustainability initiatives with women’s health providers at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the Guttmacher Institute, and Columbia University’s OB/GYN department.
Melanie previously served as Chief Operating Officer at RAD and was the longtime Executive Director of Provide, Inc., where she led efforts to integrate abortion care into under-resourced health and social service systems.
